The task

By the start, the advertiser had confirmed demand but no controllable volume. The goal was to launch a forex offer into Indonesia via push traffic and keep CPA within a $45 target for the first deposit.

We worked the "Forex & trading" vertical in the Indonesia market. Payment model — CPA per first deposit, main sources — Push traffic.

How we did it

We built the buy around four decisions.

  • Bet on a social-proof message instead of rising-chart visuals, which typically dominate financial creatives in Tier-1 markets.
  • Used testimonial-format creatives featuring ordinary-looking, not "professional"-looking "traders".
  • Ran creatives in Indonesian instead of English, even for segments the platform flagged as reasonably fluent in English.
  • Built enough time into the campaign evaluation for the full deposit attribution window to close — instead of judging on early, still-incomplete data.

What went wrong

Not everything went according to plan. Deposit confirmation lag ran longer than usual — many conversions confirmed 48–72 hours after the first click, making early-campaign CPA look worse than it actually was.

Held off on judging results too early — waited until enough time had passed to close the full attribution window before assessing performance. Judging on early data would have shut down a campaign that was actually working within target.

The result

Once stabilized, the campaign held the following numbers. Over the three weeks: deposits — 210, cpa — $38, spend — $7,980.

210 first-time deposits at a $38 CPA and $7,980 spend — against a $45 target ceiling; Indonesian-language creative noticeably outperformed English even among segments the platform flagged as "English-speaking".

What we took away

  • Platform-reported language proficiency doesn't reliably predict which language will perform better in creative.
  • Finance offers with a long confirmation lag can't be judged on early data — you need to wait for the full attribution window to close.
These numbers belong to one specific setup, geo, and buying period. Economics will differ on another offer or in another season — we always recalculate them before launch.
