A licensed online casino offer run into the UK through native ad placements over a month — 340 first-time deposits at £52 CPA, £17,680 total spend.
The task
The request came from a partner who wanted to enter the geo fast, without a long ramp-up. Needed to launch a licensed online casino offer into the UK under strict gambling-ad regulation that limits social and search formats.
We worked the "iGaming" vertical in the United Kingdom market. Payment model — CPA per first deposit, main sources — native advertising.
How we did it
The plan was built so each step could be rolled back on its own.
- Chose native advertising through publishers already running gambling-adjacent content — the format gave more creative freedom within compliance than a comparable Meta or Google campaign.
- Built compliance into every creative from day one: responsible-gambling messaging, visible terms, and age-verification prompts were in the very first creative set.
- Focused placements on weekday evening hours (6pm-midnight), when the audience has free time and attention for a registration decision.
What went wrong
The first real setback hit during scaling. UK gambling-ad regulation (platform rules and ASA standards) heavily restricted allowed formats on social and search, making direct buying through those channels difficult.
Moved buying to native placements through publishers with gambling-adjacent content — this gave creative freedom within compliance limits and visible operator legitimacy, which the UK audience responds to better.
The result
By the end of the period, the setup hit its planned numbers. Over the month: first deposits — 340, cost per deposit — £52, total spend — £17,680.
Over the month the campaign delivered 340 first deposits at £52 CPA and £17,680 spend; weekday evening placements clearly outperformed weekend and daytime slots.
What we took away
- In a heavily regulated market, native advertising through adjacent publishers can give more creative freedom than direct buying on social or search.
- Compliance built into the creative from the start also works as a trust element for the audience, not just a formal requirement.
- Weekday evening placements match the registration-decision moment more precisely than an even weekly spread.
These numbers belong to one specific setup, geo, and buying period. Economics will differ on another offer or in another season — we always recalculate them before launch.
